Clockpunk pendants 5 by Astalo Clockpunk pendants 5 by Astalo
Middle one is butterfy pendant from brass gears, wire and vintage alarm clock foot what i solder together. There is also one gear pendant with silver details and two simple spoon pendants with riveted clock gears.

Cameo pendant is made from copper plate, gears and one french "50 Francs" coin just like this. [link]

I really like the butterfly.
I have not seen
any other piece of jewelry that
using gears that way.

Glad to hear it and thanks for adding these and some of my other clockpunk sets to your favourites.
I had seen gears used as butterfly wings in mental-design.blogspot.com/ website, before I started making my own versions from same idea, but I was probably the first who used vintage clock legs or brass screws for the body part.

I'm really liking this cobbled together stuff. There's a local artist here that makes hair clips and other jewelry from old silverware, I'm determined to acquire one as a gift for... someone!

Thanks. I'm very into to recycling and totally support it.

World is full of old useless junk and sometimes i think that why don't everyone make new more useful objects from them.. :)

I feel the same way... but mostly it's just because old junk is cheaper and more authentic. It's nice to find a use for old junk, though!

Thanks for the compliments.

At least those spoon ones are so easy to make that almost everyone can do it. You only need simple tools like electric drill, cutting pliers, sandpaper and hammer. First you have to cut of one teaspoon cup and drill small hole in the center and find some clock gears & one brass nail what you can use in the center.

Final part is to stack all the pieces together in right order and put that nail thru the gear/spoon holes and cut the extra lenght of the nail of from the spoons backside. After that you can use the hammer for making the second end of that center rivet made from brass nail, and all the pieces tighten together very nicely. :)

Thanks again for faving. I also like that mix between brass and silver. It will look even greater in later, when the brass parts turn a little bit darker and silver details keep shining in the middle.

Thanks for the fave. I also like that one very much and wish that i can find more alarm clock legs for similar projects, because that was my last one.

It was just the right size and shape for a butterfly body..

Lol.. They are probably quite rare finds in nowadays, because there was only two that type of clock legs in my uncle's scrapmetal stash and now i have used both of them.

That other one was in my first clockpunk set. [link]
