Silver jewelry 2 by Astalo Silver jewelry 2 by Astalo
Three pendants, signet ring and one lion shaped dagger pommel what i have made of silver by using the vacuum casting method. It means that I first had to carve a wax version of the jewelry model, and then use the "wax model" to form some kind of plaster cast around it. Then cast is heated, and the wax melt of. The purpose of the plaster cast was to use it for casting final jewelry pieces in silver etc.

I don't have vacuum casting tools in my home workshop and i make all of those when I was studying at the College of Crafts and Design (1999-2001) and the South Carelia Polytechnic (2002-2006)

Tuo sormus on ihan kuin jonkin maffia elokuvan mafioson sormesta... (^.^)

I especially love the ring.

Nice work. I have the centrifugal unit in my garage but I always wanted to use the vacuum caster. I hear it gives better results

It's the best method for more complex jewelry shapes, and if you want to put for example over 50 wax models to same plaster mold, vacuum casting is probably the most usable method for big casts like that.

Thanks for adding this montage to your favourites.

I'm very sorry, but i don't never going to sell my old vacuum casted works, because i don't have tools for making more of them.
