Silver Rings 1 by Astalo Silver Rings 1 by Astalo
One customer brings old worn out golden ring with six marquise cut sapphires in last fall. I taked it apart and made new silver ring with same stones in different positions. (It was also the first time when i had to set faceted or so small stones..)

Two "twisting ribbons" themed rings are wedding ring commissions and that bottom row ring with oval garnet is just my own design. .

I have collected over the years a bunch of ornamental looking cutlery pieces and i just copied the pattern from old floral themed fork handle, when i put it through to my rolling mill with silver plate and used the final outcome for making that ring band. Part around the stone is just some normal sterling plate, square wire and ball chain soldered together.

I can't see how you do it, but I appreciate the fact that you do it and you share it with us. Your work is wonderful.

Thanks for adding also these to your favourites. I don't make rings very often, but it's always quite nice change for my typical pendant projects etc. :)

I never liked messing with small stones, too many hand craps screwing with the bezels

Yeah. I also like smooth and a little bit bigger stone surfaces more than typical faceted gemstones, but maybe also them can feel more nicer, if the stone size turns much bigger. It's always great fun to set big cabochons, but too bad that emeralds, rubies and other similar gemstones are so expensive in larger sizes. :XD:

Thanks for adding my new metal projects to your favourites. You were the first who faved all seven pictures at once.
