Interests
Hi!  My name is Mikko Anttonen (A.K.A. "Freaky Mike") and I work as a traditional blacksmith and jewelry artist in one small village in the eastern part of Finland. I'm pretty mad on science fiction- & fantasy art/literature, historical times and metal music as well.. I have always liked drawing and making objects from metal, wood and other natural materials.

Link to my personal web gallery: www.saunalahti.fi/~wfan - (Text is mainly in Finnish..)

I drew a lot, when I was a kid.. In my teenage years that went to the backround, but after 2002 I got extremely interested it again, and draw and paint a lot of scifi- and fantasy themed works etc. (Mainly in Wacom tablet and Photoshop.)
I have made all kind of metalworks for hobby over ten years and I started finally my own business in 2007. My workshop is situated in one over hundred years old  barn house in our farmyard  and it's called "Taidetakomo Astalo" so I decide to use it also my nick in here. (Astalo is really a finnish name for temporary striking weapon.)

Many people have asked, that do i sell my metal works in online or make some commissions in there, but i have to say no for all of them.
I have already so much work to do in our farm/forests and my little company, that i don't have any meaningful reasons to expand my "business" to outside Finland.. I started to post my works here, because it's quite interesting to hear some feedback and comments also from around the world, and not only from my local circles and customers.

Sorry about typos.. English is not my native language. :)

I have also seen a lot of my metal works in different blogs, messageboards and sites like Pinterest etc. I don't even care it anymore and get angry only if some other person try to call my pieces to his/her own works, but it has happen only few times over the years. Lol.. I created also own Pinterest account in some times ago, because that place is full of great looking viking/steampunk/history-pictures.

My first 2015-event is actually just this weekend. Small antiques & crafts fair in town called Imatra 44 kilometers from my home. I don't have finished a lot of new pieces in this year, but it's probably start to go better when the summer comes.
Just now I have been making mainly some minor wood & fiberglass projects like renovating one vintage trunk and repairing broken costume mannequin torso etc. I'm also making some drawers for my jewelers desk.
